About Above the Clouds

Incorporated in 2001, Above the Clouds, Inc. is a non-profit, faith-based, free, creative arts program, which originated to reach disadvantaged children ages 5-17 years old in the Milwaukee area who would otherwise not have the means, or opportunity to participate in such programs.

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) serving the youth of Milwaukee's city center since 2002.

Back To School Block Party At The Holton Youth + Family Center

2011 Spring Recital

 This years spring recital "Larger Than Life" was held at the Destiny Youth Plaza (7210 N. 76th St.).  Over 450+ came out to support our children as they showcased what they learned this last semister.  Classes represented was:  Ballet (level 1, 4 & 5), Hip Hop, Holy Hype, Music (vocal), Jazz, Intrepretive Dance & Theatre.

Above The Clouds takes 425 students, parents and partners to see the ballet "His Gift"!

Above The Clouds was able to provide FREE tickets to our ballet and dance students, parents and partners to the ballet "His Gift" held at Elmbrook Church thanks to Alyce Roeder, Founder of Dance El Elyon and Steps of Grace.  Our partnership with Dance El Elyon and Steps of Grace allows our students who are interested in furthering their skill of the ballet to receive a scho

Medical College Initiative

On June 5, 2010, Above the Clouds was honored by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at a special event held at 1:30pm at Christ The King Church, 7798 N. 60th Street.

2010 Spring Recital

Our 2010 Spring Recital was a blast.  Our students showcased pieces from our ballet (all levels), stepping, drama and interpretive dance classes. Over 275 families, friends and donors attended.
Our MC Joel Boyd kept us laughing as well as encourage our students.

 Above The Clouds is excited to be one of the organizations chosen to receive a grant from the Wisconsin Lutheran College - Love to Live, Live to Give program. 

Our newest sites

Above The Clouds will be adding new class sites for our 2011 fall sessions.  These sites are as followed:

Rufus King Middle School (4950 N. 24th St.)

New Life Academy (3410 W. Silver Spring)

Parklawn Family Resource Center (4340 N. 46th St.) Winter of 2011


By adding these additional sites, we here at ATC are able to offer more children an opportunity to experience the world of art in a whole new way.

Above the Clouds founder and executive director, Linda Wade, was honored on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the 3rd Annual Black Child Development Institute.

Winter Recital 2009

Thank you to all who attended our 2009 winter recital held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at HeartLove Place (3229 N. Dr. Martin Lutheran King Jr. Drive) at 6:00p.m.   Our special guest was:  LaSharle Borg - former News Reporter at WISN 12 News.  Our children did a wonderful job at showcasing what they learned in just one semister.

God's blessings - over the past nine and a half years of providing quality art and movement classes - have caused us to see significant growth in the classes we offer. We have out grown our current locations and we are working with city officials, businesses, foundations, architects and builders to build our own facility.
