Holton Youth and Family Center
Above The Clouds is honored to be chosen by the Helen Bader Fdn and the Holton Youth and Family Center Board of Directors to be one of the organizations that will provide programming/classes at the Holton Youth and Family Center (510 E. Burleigh Ave.) fall of 2010. This partnership will allow Above The Clouds to provide programs/classes to the children in the Harambee and Riverwest area. One key aspect this area is its capacity for being a cultural melting pot. Riverwest is the most ethnically-balanced census tract in Wisconsin. The neighborhood’s white, black and Hispanic residents comprise a unique mosaic of multicultural interests and socio-economic needs. Conversely, Harambee, the adjacent neighborhood west of Holton, is poorer than Riverwest. The Holton Youth and Family Center is strategically positioned at the nexus of the two distinct areas and can provide a fulcrum for addressing racial and cultural barriers that are deteriorating the health and welfare of the greater Milwaukee area.
Additional partners working with the Holton Youth and Family Centers will be:
